How can I get more links shared on KCRS?

Great question.  There are a couple of ways.

Post often-  New content gets shared more rapidly.  The more you post, the more likely it is to show up on the front page.

Add the KCRS Share Button-  I have created a stylish little button you can add to the bottom of your posts.  It looks like this.  (You can click it to see what happens, but please don’t submit the link)

submit to Kansas City Restaurant Scene

Here is the code to add it to the bottom of your posts:

<a href=”http://www.kansascityrestaurantscene.com?action=dosubmitlink” onclick=”window.location = ‘http://www.kansascityrestaurantscene.com?action=dosubmitlink&submit-link-input=’+encodeURIComponent(location.href); return false”><img src=”http://www.kansascityrestaurantscene.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Kansas City Restaurant Share.png” alt=”submit to Kansas City Restaurant Scene” border=”0″ /></a>

There are also a number of other button styles and the corresponding code at the bottom of the submit link page

If you have your own design that you would like to use for the button, send it to me and I will code it for you.

If your blog is WordPress based, I can send you a plugin that will put the link at the bottom of all posts automatically.

Add the “submit” button to your browser-  If you use Firefox or Internet Explorer as your web browser, instruction on adding the submit button to your bookmarks can be found on the submit link page.  This will allow you to submit the link of any article you are reading directly to the site.

Share your posts-  You are allowed to submit two posts from your blog in a row or three out of five links in a row.  This is a great way to get traffic to older posts.  I do place the limits to prevent the front page from being filled with posts from a particular site.  Share yours, but throw in posts from other great blogs to spread the love around.
